English: Successful path to a healthy body (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
In the last posting I commented on the importance of Health Maintenance. We should be, being taught by our parents and teachers, from an early age, to eat well and get plenty of exercise through playing. But somehow, as we grow older, we get to busy with other things to take time for this whole area of health maintenance (taking care of our body).
We should be hearing from our doctors, and friends to do better. But are we making the effort to eat a well balanced diet or at least taking vitamin supplements. And are we working at being sure that we are getting enough exercise. Are we parking at the furthest spot in the parking lot, or taking the stairs instead of the elevator. All of this becomes more and more important as we age, not less.
Health Maintenance becomes important on the job and in our lives (e.g. fun, getting around, etc.). But it is important to God also. He wants you to have a healthy body so you can deal with the challenges and assignments He will give you. Just as if you went to a school that wore uniforms, you would be expected to keep the uniform clean and fresh: you are expected to keep your body ready to face the challenges you need to. Just as in sports, you are required to keep the body healthy, God expects you to keep your body healthy to be able to do the assignments He will assign to you.
Health Maintenance requires that you also maintain your mind, in a state of ability to perform what ever God expects of you. You need to start by getting the required amount of sleep (for most it means 8 hours). And then there is the mental exercising necessary. This can take the form of: learning new things, social interaction, maintaining a joyful attitude.
Health Maintenance also requires that you maintain your spirit (soul). This includes such things as: learning new spiritual things (like this blog), looking at beautiful things (e.g. art, God’s creation), listening to things (conversations, speakers, music), and such areas as hugging, touching, etc.
If you have worked at your relationship with your lover – God FIRST, He will give you the help (e.g. guidance, strength, perseverance) to be successful. And as a result you will become proud to offer your lover-God your body and soul to be proud of and to be able to use for His plans. This will greatly increase your love, joy and lot more. It will strengthen your relationship.
And if you have worked at all the previous topics, including Health Maintenance you will find yourself a kinder person, which we will take a look at in the nest posting.
